This is a 3d tech demo of an RPG game I am programming in Flash using Molehill. 100k polies, 60fps at fullscreen resolution.
The terrain is using the famous "splatting" technique so that three different textures can be mixed depending on elevation, with normalmapped close-up details. There is a lush forest and a quaint medieval town as well as a castle and a guild hall hidden in the forest.
I am currently working on implementing elevation-aware a-star pathfinding. Eventually I hope to develop a turn-based-strategy roleplaying game set in a fantasy-steampunk universe filled with talking animals. Enjoy!
