Finland Forest Farmhouse

45 Minute speedpaint using Corel Painter 11 digital watercolour. An experiment with using only one brush, a small wet oval shaped brush on virtual damp textured paper.

Two summers ago while on vacation in Finland I was hiking in a forest filled with birch trees on a tiny island a few hours outside of Helsinki. I came upon an ancient wooden shed and snapped a photo. I used this photo, which I have full copyright over, as a reference for this digital painting.

When I returned to the family cottage, the sauna was ready - an wooden building heated by a fire and filled with steam. Once we were super hot from sitting in the sauna we ran down the nearby dock and jumped naked into the lake for a freezing cold refresher!
